Since Dive Rite first began making reels over 15 years ago, we have been looking for a simple, yet reliable way to incorporate an adjustable drag mechanism. It appears we have finally found it.

The Dive Rite Reel Drag fits all late-model 4100- and 4300-series stainless reels (these are the ones that use a stainless "E" clip to keep the spool in place). The drag consists of a lightweight metal disk, attached to a low-friction axle bushing. The drag assembly replaces the nylon bushing that normally sits next to the reel frame. The reel drag can be added to current Dive Rite reels as an after-market upgrade, or ordered pre-installed on new reels.
